 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
 of Ira McClease Mathews, Sr., of Waco, who passed away on April 13,
 2011, at the age of 82; and
 WHEREAS, Born on April 24, 1928, in Waco, Ira Mathews was the
 eighth child and youngest son of Jacob and Pleasant Mathews; he
 married Vera Lee Williams in 1948, and the couple enjoyed more than
 four decades together before her death in 1993; a devoted family
 man, he took great pride in their four children, Sheryl, Betty,
 Helen, and Ira; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Mathews worked for the Greyhound bus company for
 more than 25 years and was employed by the Waco Tribune-Herald at
 the time of his passing; and
 WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Ira Mathews
 will remember how he touched their lives with his kindness,
 generosity, and ever-present smile, and he will forever hold a
 treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ira McClease
 Mathews, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
 family: to his daughters, Sheryl Newson, Betty Tatum, and Helen
 Mathews and Lennard Thompson; to his son, Ira McClease Mathews,
 Jr.; to his grandchildren, Charhonda Mysti Chakrathouk and her
 husband, Thong, Zoey Lynn Kennington, and Chris Mathews; to his
 great-granddaughter, Ambria Chakrathouk; to his sisters, Hazel
 Cobb, Theresa Mathews, and Thelma Herron; to his sister-in-law,
 Geneva Edwards, and her husband, Bennie; and to his other relatives
 and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ira
 Mathews.
