H.R. No. 2037 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, David Villarreal-Landtroop of Plainview Christian High School won a bronze medal in the Class 1A 3,200-meter run at the 2011 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools State Track and Field Championships held on May 6 and 7 in Waco; and WHEREAS, The son of State Representative Jim Landtroop and his wife, Cathy, Mr. Villarreal-Landtroop is a freshman taking part in his first year of high school athletics, and he holds the distinction of being the sole member of his school's track team; coached by Bridgette Wall, he earned the opportunity to run at the state championships by taking first place at the regional competition with a time of 11 minutes, 26 seconds; and WHEREAS, At the state meet, this determined athlete proved that he can compete with the best in Texas, capturing third place and recording a time of 11 minutes, 22 seconds; and WHEREAS, With his undeniable talent and strong work ethic, David Villarreal-Landtroop is undoubtedly ready for continued success on the track in the years to come, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate David Villarreal-Landtroop on winning the bronze medal at the 2011 TAPPS State Track and Field Championships and extend to him sincere best wishes for a bright future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Villarreal-Landtroop as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
