H.R. No. 2052
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In 2011, the Meridian Blue Lodge Freemasons are
celebrating the 150th anniversary of the organization's founding;
and
WHEREAS, Part of the Grand Lodge of Texas, the Meridian Blue
Lodge was chartered on June 21, 1861; the organization has been a
source of inspiring fraternal unity for many generations of members
and has had an enduring and positive influence in Bosque County; and
WHEREAS, Members of the lodge are dedicated to supporting a
number of worthwhile initiatives; through the years, they have
contributed to the North Bosque Helping Hands food bank, the
Meridian Public Library, and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for
Children in Dallas; in addition, area students have benefited from
the group's support of Jackets Against Drugs and Take Time to Read,
as well as from its annual scholarship award; and
WHEREAS, Meridian Blue Lodge continues to uphold the Masonic
principles of "Brotherly Love, Compassion, and Truth," and it is a
pleasure to join in recognizing the organization at this special
time in its rich history; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 150th anniversary of the
founding of the Meridian Blue Lodge Freemasons and that all those
affiliated with the group be extended sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the lodge as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
