 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Ruth L. Wyrick was awarded an honorary doctor of
 humane letters degree from Southwestern Christian College on May 7,
 2011; and
 WHEREAS, A member of the school's Class of 1955, Mrs. Wyrick
 has given generously of her time and talents to benefit
 Southwestern Christian College in the years since her graduation;
 in addition to her work as a member of its board of trustees, she is
 the school's chief fund-raiser in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,
 helping to bring in nearly $1 million through her efforts with the
 National Dinner Day and Little Mr. & Miss SwCC pageants; and
 WHEREAS, For her myriad achievements, this remarkable woman
 is the only individual ever to have been selected three times as her
 alma mater's Alumnus of the Year; and
 WHEREAS, Ruth Wyrick has long been a dedicated ambassador for
 Southwestern Christian College, and the institution has enhanced
 the education of countless young people as a result of her
 dedication and drive; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Ruth Wyrick on earning an honorary
 doctor of humane letters degree from Southwestern Christian College
 and commend her for her exemplary service; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Wyrick as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
