H.R. No. 2063 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The observance of Probation, Parole, and Community Supervision Week on July 17-23, 2011, offers a fitting opportunity to recognize the Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections Department; and WHEREAS, A professional criminal justice agency, the Dallas County CSCD serves the public under the authority of the criminal judiciary system, supervising more than 53,000 clients on a daily basis; the department enforces court-ordered conditions of community supervision and provides offenders with a wide array of rehabilitative services and resources; and WHEREAS, Dr. Michael E. Noyes leads a CSCD workforce of more than 630; the staff works diligently to carry out its mission to safeguard the public from criminal activity, provide services, support, and protection for victims, and facilitate positive changes in offender behavior through the use of evidence-based intervention strategies; playing a vital role in the criminal justice system, community corrections professionals also work in partnership with community agencies and groups and advocate for community and restorative justice; and WHEREAS, The members of the staff of the Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections Department have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their mission, and their efforts have earned the gratitude and appreciation of their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby join in recognizing July 17-23, 2011, as Probation, Parole, and Community Supervision Week and extend to the staff and administration of the Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections Department sincere best wishes for continued success in their important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Dallas County CSCD as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
