H.R. No. 2066 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Matilde Apodaca of Socorro passed away on March 17, 2011, at the age of 78, leaving her circle of family and friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Socorro and a member of La Purisima Parish, Mrs. Apodaca was born on June 14, 1932; she enjoyed the companionship of a brother, Ricardo Carbajal, and a sister, Margarita Jurado; and WHEREAS, Matilde Apodaca was the beloved wife of Elizario "Chayo" Apodaca, with whom she shared 54 rewarding years of marriage; she and her husband became the proud parents of five treasured children, Becky, Delia, Gina, Roland, and Valerie, and over the years they delighted in seeing their family grow to include five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the love and friendship of Matilde Apodaca will always remember her with great tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Matilde Apodaca and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, Elizario "Chayo" Apodaca; to her children and their spouses, Becky and Tito Lujan, Delia and Kenneth Schwartz, Gina and Henry Moss, Roland and Cecilia Apodaca, and Valerie and Henry Martinez; to her grandchildren, Gilbert, Ashley, and Justin Lujan, Jonathan Moss, and Roland Apodaca, Jr.; to her great-grandchildren, Luke and Camilla; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Matilde Apodaca.
