R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 51st wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Henry and Bennie Dugat
of Liberty are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage
on May 21, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Childhood sweethearts, Henry Dugat and the former
Bennie Durham were joined in matrimony in 1960 at a ceremony held at
Trinity Valley Baptist Church in Liberty; through the years, they
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes 5 children,
Cynthia Mosley, Henry L. Dugat, Jr., Daphne Dickerson, Alonzo
Dugat, and Christopher Dugat, as well as 16 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Dr. Dugat has
been a distinguished minister of music who has served churches
throughout Southeast Texas, while Mrs. Dugat enjoyed a notable
career as a medical technologist; she joined Dr. Dugat in service to
their community of faith in 2006, following her graduation from
United Christian Theological Institute; Dr. Dugat currently is the
funeral assistant with Allison Funeral Service; and
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Dugat have enjoyed more than five
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Henry and Bennie Dugat on their
51st wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. Dugat as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
