H.R. No. 2188 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Sergeant Ed Coleman retired from the Richardson Police Department on January 31, 2011, drawing to a close a notable career in law enforcement that spanned three decades; and WHEREAS, This outstanding public servant initially worked as a patrol officer and a detective in the investigative division; he was promoted to sergeant in 1992; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Coleman went on to distinguish himself as a supervisor in the patrol and investigative divisions, and he also served as a field training officer and accident investigator; and WHEREAS, Sergeant Coleman's dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly benefited the citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed take pride in a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Ed Coleman on his retirement from the Richardson Police Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Sergeant Coleman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
