H.R. No. 2223 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Louis and Shirley Sims of Waco celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2011; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sims were united in matrimony at the home of the bride's mother, the late Marzella Carrington, in Waco in 1973; they are the proud and loving parents of three children, Gianna, Tara, and Louis, and grandparents of three, LaToya, Tiara, and the late Gianna; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. Sims are both retired from the Cargill turkey production plant after 30 and 33 years, respectively; Mr. Sims is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and he was honored with the Purple Heart for his courageous service; Mrs. Sims is an Evangelist and a talented interior decorator who enjoys sketching; and WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 38 years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Louis and Shirley Sims on their 38th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Sims as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
