H.R. No. 2224 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a celebration of love that has stood the test of time, and five decades after that special day in 1961, Wilburn and Doris Schuette of McGregor continue to bring out the best in one another and to inspire all who share in the richness of their lives; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Schuette were united in matrimony on March 18, 1961, at a ceremony held at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of two daughters and their husbands, Laurie and David and Audry and Darrell, as well as four grandchildren, Leslie and her husband, John, Cody and his wife, Emily, Landon, and Shanna; and WHEREAS, Both now retired, Mr. Schuette worked for Smead Manufacturing and Mrs. Schuette was employed with the First National Bank of McGregor; and WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Wilburn and Doris Schuette on their 50th anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schuette as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
