 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Ernest E. King of Robinson passed away on April 7,
 2011, at the age of 77, leaving his circle of family and friends to
 cherish their many happy memories of time spent in his company; and
 WHEREAS, "Gene" King was born in McLennan County to Sam and
 Alice King on July 13, 1933; he served in the United States Navy
 during the Korean War on the USS Pollux; and
 WHEREAS, In 1954, Mr. King married the love of his life, the
 former Syvilla Duty; together they had three daughters, Vicki,
 Sheila, and Pamela Darlene; they later took pride in welcoming a
 third generation into the family with the addition of three
 granddaughters; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. King retired from Davis Iron Works in 1999 after
 29 years of service; in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf
 and watching football and baseball; and
 WHEREAS, Although he will be deeply missed, Gene King will
 always be remembered with great admiration and affection; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ernest E. King and
 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
 Syvilla King; to his daughters, Vicki Deckard and her husband,
 Alan, and Sheila Towner and her husband, Lewis; to his
 granddaughters, Holly Melton, Courtney Towner, and Casey Towner; to
 his brothers, Howard King and his wife, Stella, and S. L. "Shorty"
 King and his wife, Laverne; to his sister, Mary Lee Lathern, and her
 husband, Cecil; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gene King.
