No. 2248 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends of Dora Kate Howell of Waco, who passed away on April 11, 2011, at the age of 96; and WHEREAS, Born in Comanche to Andrew and Carrie Turner Palmer on May 29, 1914, the former Dora Kate Palmer was joined in marriage to O. B. Howell, and they shared many happy years together until his passing; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Howell loved children and taught preschool at Jack and Jill; she was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and also sang in the Baylor Senior Adult Choir; and WHEREAS, Dora Kate Howell lived a rich and purposeful life centered around her faith, her loved ones, and her young students, and she will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dora Kate Howell and extend sincere sympathy to her nieces and nephews and to her many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dora Kate Howell.
