H.R. No. 2252 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mary Ann Harold of Waco, who passed away on April 6, 2011, at the age of 71; and WHEREAS, Born on May 19, 1939, the former "Mae Cannie" Wright was the daughter of Joe and LaVanna Wright; she attended public schools in Chilton and then completed her education at A.J. Moore High School in Waco; and WHEREAS, She was joined in matrimony to Robert L. Harold on May 18, 1967, and the couple were blessed with two children, Ronda and Kevin; a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Harold dedicated herself to her home and family as her husband's military career took them to numerous postings over the course of 26 years; she eventually knew the joy of welcoming grandchildren and great-grandchildren into her large extended family; and WHEREAS, After retiring to Waco, Mrs. Harold became a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, and she later joined Community Missionary Baptist Church; she served as president of the senior choir; in addition, she was president of Queens of Heart Social Club and a member of the Eastern Star; and WHEREAS, Mary Ann Harold centered her life around her family and her faith, and those who were privileged to know her will long cherish their memories of her kindness; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Ann Harold and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, retired Chief of Police Robert L. Harold; to her children, Alvin Wright, Robert Harold, Jr., and his wife, Charlotte, Audrey Mae Dowell and her husband, Larry, Janet Graves, Ann Evans and her husband, Larry, Dorothy Bryant and her husband, Harold, Gregory Scott and his wife, Louanda, and Kevin Harold and his wife, Kathy; to her brother, Raymond Knight, and his wife, Freddie; to her daughter-in-law, Gloria Thomas; to her sister-in-law, Josephine Wright; to her adopted daughter, Joanne Quiggley; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Ann Harold.
