H.R. No. 2287 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Shalette N. Mitchell has provided valuable support to the office of Representative Yvonne Davis as a legislative intern; and WHEREAS, A second-year law student at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, Ms. Mitchell is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and a participant in the Texas Legislative Intern Program; her duties have included monitoring and researching current and emerging policy issues related to criminal law, public and higher education, and health care concerns; and WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell serves as vice president of the Student Bar Association executive board at TSU and is also involved in the Government Law Society; she serves as a student representative with LexisNexis and volunteers at homeless shelters and with the youth department at her church; moreover, she has worked at a wholesale distributor in Spring and shared her time with Communities in Schools; and WHEREAS, Throughout the session, Shalette Mitchell has helped to ensure that the constituents of House District 111 and the citizens of the Lone Star State have been well represented, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby commend Shalette N. Mitchell for her service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Yvonne Davis and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Mitchell as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
