H.R. No. 2348 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Residents of Stafford have greatly benefited from the dedicated leadership of Cecil Willis during his long tenure on the city council; and WHEREAS, A resident of Stafford since 1975, Mr. Willis first served on the council from 1979 to 1995; he won election again in 2000 and served as mayor pro tem for a year; and WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan serves as the council's representative to the Houston-Galveston Area Council; in addition, Mr. Willis is vice chair of the Fort Bend County Mayor-Council Association and executive director of the Quail Valley Fund; deeply committed to his community, he has also served on the city's Home Rule Charter Commission; and WHEREAS, Throughout his years of service in municipal government, Cecil Willis has ably guided the city with an eye to the future, and his expertise in a range of community issues has earned him widespread respect; his efforts have helped to make Stafford an even better place in which to live and work, and he may indeed take pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby honor Cecil Willis for his committed public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Willis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
