R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lonell Burks has distinguished herself through her
dedicated service to the residents of North Texas; and
WHEREAS, Active in the Dallas community, Ms. Burks has
generously volunteered her time to benefit Texas House District 111
while also encouraging others to participate in the electoral
process; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Burks has further contributed to the Association
of Community Organizations for Reform Now and to her congregation
at Greater Christian Missionary Baptist Church, where she has
served as mission president and church announcer; a former cook,
she is the proud mother of two children, Janell and Lester; and
WHEREAS, Lonell Burks has demonstrated a lasting commitment
to making Dallas an even better place in which to live and work, and
in so doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her
fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Lonell Burks for her efforts in behalf of
her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Burks as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
