H.R. No. 2593
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the untimely loss of
Michael Benavidez of Waco, who passed away on April 27, 2011, at the
age of 24; and
WHEREAS, Michael Benavidez was born in Odessa on July 30,
1986, to Rachel Benavidez and Richard Garcia; at the time of his
tragic death, he was attending Texas State Technical College and on
his way to earning an engineering degree; and
WHEREAS, A personable young man who enjoyed dancing, Mr.
Benavidez was devoted to his girlfriend, Krystal, and was the
father of two beloved daughters, Arianna and Jasmine, the latter of
whom preceded him in death; and
WHEREAS, Although he departed this world far too soon,
Michael Benavidez brought much joy to his loved ones, and memories
of time spent in his company will forever be cherished by all those
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Benavidez and
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
parents, Rachel Benavidez and Richard Garcia; to his daughter,
Arianna Benavidez; to his girlfriend, Krystal Lopez; to his
brothers, Richard Garcia, Jr., and Rudy Garcia; and to his other
relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael
Benavidez.
