H.R. No. 2594
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Doris Kathleen Burch of
Waco were greatly saddened by her passing on April 15, 2011, at the
age of 73; and
WHEREAS, A native of Italy, Texas, the former Doris Cockerham
was born on December 17, 1937, to Edward and Grace Cockerham; she
married Winfred Charles Burch, Sr., in her youth, and the couple
would go on to share a rewarding marriage that would span half a
century; and
WHEREAS, This beloved woman was devoted to her children,
Jonathan, David, Cynthia, Winfred, and Deborah, and she also served
as a source of wisdom and inspiration to her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, memories of
Doris Burch will be forever treasured by all those who were
fortunate enough to share in the richness of her life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Doris Kathleen Burch
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
children, Jonathan Burch, David Haggerty, Cynthia Haggerty,
Winfred Charles Burch, Jr., and Deborah Burch; to her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; to her brother, Sammy Mays; and to her
other relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Doris
Burch.
