H.R. No. 2645 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Georgia Holland of Dallas has long distinguished herself through her dedicated service in behalf of her fellow Texans; and WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Holland has generously volunteered her time to benefit Texas House District 111 while encouraging area residents to participate in the electoral process; and WHEREAS, Ms. Holland serves as a special commissioner for the City of Dallas, and she is an admired member of Good Street Baptist Church, where she has been president of the Sisterhood Ministry and participated in the Deacon Wives and Deaconess ministries and the Missionary Society; in addition, she has further benefited the church's credit union as a loan officer and member of the board, and she served on the prayer and grievance committee for Triple Alliance Enterprises; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Prairie View A&M University, Ms. Holland earned her master's degree from North Texas State University and positively influenced many young lives during a notable teaching career with the Dallas Independent School District that spanned 32 years; and WHEREAS, Georgia Holland has demonstrated a lasting commitment to making Dallas an even better place in which to live and work, and in so doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of all who know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby honor Georgia Holland for her civic engagement and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Holland as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
