 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, During the 82nd Legislative Session, Cole Howard has
 ably served his fellow Texans in the office of State Representative
 Roberto R. Alonzo through the Texas Legislative Internship Program
 (TLIP); and
 WHEREAS, Established in 1990 and administered by the Mickey
 Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern
 University, TLIP provides a unique opportunity for students from
 Texas colleges and universities to serve as interns in the Texas
 Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices;
 students receive academic credit for participating in the program,
 which combines study and research with supervised practical
 training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a program advisor, and his
 office assists with coordinating on-site activities; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Howard has monitored
 legislation referred to the House Higher Education and Border and
 Intergovernmental Affairs Committees and assisted with constituent
 casework; and
 WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties
 as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he has gained
 valuable work experience in the field of public service while
 learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing
 citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Cole Howard for his service to State
 Representative Roberto R. Alonzo as a participant in the Texas
 Legislative Internship Program and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Howard as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
