H.R. No. 2711
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Richardson East Rotary Club is marking the 25th
anniversary of its founding with special events throughout 2011;
and
WHEREAS, With a focus on improving the quality of life of
people around the world, Rotary International is active in economic
development, education, and hunger and disaster relief efforts as
well as clean water projects and the eradication of polio; local
chapters give members the chance to network with area business
leaders, make new friends, and enjoy fellowship, all while putting
"Service Above Self"; and
WHEREAS, The Richardson East Rotary Club was chartered in
1985 with 24 members, and today contributes to a variety of worthy
endeavors, including the Richardson Independent School District,
the YMCA, Neighborhood Youth and Family Counseling of Richardson,
the Network of Community Ministries, and the Rotary Dental Clinic;
and
WHEREAS, For the past quarter-century, members of the
Richardson East Rotary Club have enriched their community in myriad
ways while building international bridges of compassion and
understanding, and it is a pleasure to recognize these dedicated
civic leaders during this milestone year; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of the
Richardson East Rotary Club and extend to its members sincere best
wishes for continued success with their many good works; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
