H.R. No. 2763
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Kenneth and Louise Dickey of Winnsboro
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 28, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Dickey and the former Ruby Louise Murphy met
on the Fourth of July in 1938, and they were united in matrimony in
Wood County in 1946; they were blessed with three children, Linda,
Brenda, and Kenneth, and through the years, their family has grown
to include 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, After serving in the military, Mr. Dickey worked for
the Red River Arsenal near Texarkana and then for the Collins Radio
Company and Rockwell International in Dallas; Mrs. Dickey worked as
a beautician in Garland for 10 years; since Mr. Dickey retired in
1981, the couple have made their home in Wood County; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
six-and-a-half decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained
constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of
their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and
opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kenneth and Louise Dickey on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dickey as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
