R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Locally owned restaurants contribute to the
economic and culinary diversity of Texas communities, and one such
establishment, The Lobby restaurant in Van, is celebrating the
first anniversary of its opening in August 2011; and
WHEREAS, Created by entrepreneurs Nita Leist and Susan Flynn,
The Lobby features traditional favorites like chicken fried steak
and hamburgers as well as more unusual fare; and
WHEREAS, In addition to providing jobs to area residents and
expanding patrons' dining options, The Lobby supports the community
through its reliance on local produce; and
WHEREAS, Offering a stylish setting in which family and
friends can meet for fine food, The Lobby has become a popular
destination for the people of Van and surrounding communities, and
it is indeed a pleasure to honor the restaurant on the occasion of
this special milestone; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the first anniversary of The Lobby
restaurant in Van and extend to its owners and staff sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for The Lobby as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
