R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Maria Toral is graduating as the salutatorian of the
senior class of Channelview High School on June 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
Toral demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to
her studies are myriad; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Toral is a member of the National Honor Society
and has been chosen as a QuestBridge scholar; she will attend Emory
University in Atlanta, Georgia, in the fall; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parent Edelmira Aleman, Maria
Toral has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and
classmates at Channelview High School, and her exceptional
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young
Texan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Maria Toral on being named
salutatorian of the Channelview High School Class of 2011 and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Toral as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
