R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Elena
Torres of Dallas, who passed away on April 10, 2011, at the age of
45; and
WHEREAS, Although her time on this earth ended far too soon,
Mrs. Torres will forever be remembered by her loved ones as a
devoted wife, a loving mother, a thoughtful daughter, and a caring
sister; and
WHEREAS, Today, as we pause in remembrance of this esteemed
woman, we acknowledge the positive difference she made in the world
around her, and we honor her memory for the many ways she enhanced
the community in which she lived; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elena Torres and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her
husband, Jesus Torres; to her daughters, Cristina and Yulissa; to
her mother, Soledad Guerra; to her brothers, Antonio and Nemecio
Medina; to her sister, Maria de la Luz; and to her other relatives
and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Elena
Torres.
