H.R. No. 2791
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ayde Hinojosa has been selected as the La Joya
Independent School District Primary Education Teacher of the Year
for 2010-2011; and
WHEREAS, A fifth-grade teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary
School, Ms. Hinojosa graduated from The University of Texas--Pan
American in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in manufacturing
engineering; she found a good position as a quality control
engineer but soon heeded her true calling and went on to obtain
alternative certification in bilingual education; in 2000, she
began her career in primary education as a third-grade teacher, and
she has taught second grade and Title II science lab; she was
previously named John F. Kennedy Elementary Teacher of the Year;
and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hinojosa sets high standards for her students
and works diligently to help them excel academically; moreover, she
serves her school in a variety of capacities; she is a member of the
special projects and fund-raiser committees and of the
organizational health core team; in addition, she serves as a
sponsor of the reader's guild, science club, and cotillion club,
and she is a team leader; benefiting the wider community as well,
she is an active member of St. Jude's Catholic Church and volunteers
with the Boys and Girls Club of Pharr; and
WHEREAS, Unwavering in her commitment to her students, Ayde
Hinojosa provides them with a strong foundation on which to build,
and she exemplifies the skill, dedication, and enthusiasm that are
the hallmarks of our best teachers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ayde Hinojosa on her selection as
the 2010-2011 La Joya Independent School District Primary Education
Teacher of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success in her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hinojosa as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
