H.R. No. 2811 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The orderly deliberations of the Texas House of Representatives during the Regular Session of the 82nd Legislature have been greatly facilitated by the diligent efforts of those who serve in the office of the house sergeant-at-arms; and WHEREAS, Rod Welsh, the house sergeant-at-arms, includes among his duties maintaining order in the house chamber and meeting rooms, securing the attendance of members, and assisting all house officers in carrying out their administrative duties; assistant sergeant-at-arms David Sauceda oversees the daily activities of the sergeant messengers, who contribute to the efficiency of the legislative process in innumerable ways; with a familiar voice known to all, doorkeeper Alana Gutierrez announces an eagerly awaited message from the senate; and WHEREAS, The duties of the sergeant's office could not be performed without the essential support of office supervisors Robert Barrios, Alana Gutierrez, Seth Juergens, Trevor Rice, Ben Skeen, and Ray Wallace; and WHEREAS, Helping to ensure the availability of parking, as well as the safety of house members and their vehicles, are house parking attendants Jerry Amaya, Juan Marinez, Billy Moore, Ralph Rios, Jr., Richard Robinson, Rudell Roe, and Howard Seymour; and WHEREAS, The exceptionally competent assistant sergeant messenger staff includes the following individuals: Adam Barton, Jacob Del Bosque, Ryan Estes, Nick Morris, Kimberly Nemecek, Kyle Paylor, Jeremy Salazar, John Uniacke, Joshua Urias, and Sarah Vaught; in addition, the dedicated messenger staff includes R. J. Axe, Bradley Bizzell, Brian Burns, Dylan Chepulis, Brandon Culpepper, Yaroslav Duncan, Jeffery Elliott, Carrisa Escalante, Robert Flores, Joseph Frausto, Ashley Gage, Rodney Gage, Evan Grandstaff, Destiny Haros, Jon Hull, Samantha Martinez, Jillian McQuillen, Ryan Millsap, Brandon Muston, Hannah Schaeffer, Scott Shelton, Reagan Stone, Laramie Stroud, Hunter Stroup, Brittany Sullivan, and Matthew Wright; and WHEREAS, The high degree of professionalism and conscientious efforts of each individual in the house sergeant-at-arms office have contributed immeasurably to this legislative session, and each is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby extend to house sergeant-at-arms Rod Welsh and to the entire staff of the house sergeant-at-arms office sincere gratitude for the outstanding services they have rendered during this legislative session; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the house sergeant-at-arms office as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
