H.R. No. 305
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jonathon Douglas Deal of Cameron is attaining the
rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special
recognition; and
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
criteria, Mr. Deal earned the requisite 21 merit badges and, for his
Eagle Scout project, he collected and shipped 12 boxes of DVDs, game
consoles, board games, and magazines to soldiers serving in
Afghanistan; and
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the
respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the
highest rank that scouting offers; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Deal's dedication to excellence and his
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jonathon Douglas Deal on achieving
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Eagle Scout Deal as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
