 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Lee Gore of Arlington on May
 11, 2010, at the age of 72, brought a great loss to the loved ones of
 this esteemed Texan; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Shelbyville, Indiana, on August 13, 1937,
 Mike Gore was the son of James and Catherine Gore; he moved to
 Arlington with his family at the age of four and graduated from
 Laneri Catholic High School, where he made numerous lasting
 friendships; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Gore enlisted in the United States Navy and
 qualified for submarine duty; a member of the electrical crew of the
 U.S.S. Chivo, he served his country for nearly four years and went
 on to attend Arlington State College; he also sold typewriters for
 the office supply division of IBM before completing his bachelor's
 degree in marketing at North Texas State University; subsequently,
 he began a distinguished career with Merrill Lynch, and in 1999 he
 retired as an assistant vice president and financial consultant;
 and
 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Gore shared a rewarding
 marriage of 45 years with the former Bonnie Sue Beebe; he was the
 proud father of a daughter, Jennifer, and a son, Jamey, and the
 adoring grandfather of Kenzie Lea and Cason James; giving
 generously of his time and talents, Mr. Gore helped found the Most
 Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and supported fund-raising for
 the Bishop Cassata Learning Center; he participated in other
 volunteer efforts as well and performed countless kind deeds, while
 bringing joy to many through his fine sense of humor; and
 WHEREAS, Mike Gore led a caring and purposeful life, and
 those who were privileged to know him will forever treasure their
 memories of time spent in his company; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Lee Gore and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Bonnie Gore; to his children, Jennifer Patton and her
 husband, David, and Jamey Gore and his wife, Shauna; to his
 grandchildren, Kenzie Lea Gore and Cason James Gore; to Jacqui
 Brownfield, who was like a daughter to him, and her husband, David;
 to his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Mason; to his niece, Sherri Pebbles;
 to his nephew, John Schwalbe; and to his many other relatives and
 friends, including Alanna and Cade Patton, who were particularly
 dear to him.
