 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, January 19, 2011, marked the 50th wedding
 anniversary of the Reverend Tommy Davis and Marilyn Davis of
 Belton, providing a fitting opportunity to reflect on their
 memorable journey together as husband and wife; and
 WHEREAS, Tommy Davis and the former Marilyn Louthan met while
 attending Bethany Nazarene College and were joined in matrimony in
 1961 at a ceremony held in Oklahoma City; through the years, they
 have been blessed with a treasured family that includes two sons and
 their wives, Dan and Sandra Davis and Stephen and Denise Davis, as
 well as four grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Reverend Davis has been in the ministry with the
 Church of the Nazarene for 45 years; he retired as pastor of the
 Belton Nazarene Church in 2008 after a quarter-century of service,
 and he remains affiliated with the church as associate pastor and
 senior adult and visitation minister; Mrs. Davis retired from Scott &
 White Memorial Hospital in 2000; they have resided in the Belton
 area for 25 years; and
 WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Reverend and Mrs.
 Davis have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
 commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
 know them; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Tommy Davis and
 Marilyn Davis on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Davis as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
