H.R. No. 471 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Phyllis A. Baumgartner of Kerrville passed away on December 21, 2010, at the age of 90, leaving her circle of family and friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and WHEREAS, Born on December 1, 1920, in Frankfort, Indiana, the former Phyllis Ferguson was the daughter of Chester and Ethal Ferguson; she was joined in marriage with Kenneth Lee Baumgartner in 1938, and the two shared more than 66 rewarding years together; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Baumgartner took great pride in her three children, Linda, Philip, and Scott, and with the passing years, she delighted in seeing her family grow to include seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A valued congregant of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Baumgartner was active in the Kerrville Garden Club and the Kerrville chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; before moving to Texas, she served as the state regent of the Wisconsin D.A.R., as a worthy matron of the Eastern Star chapter in Lancaster, Wisconsin, and as a member of the Lancaster City Council; in addition to her civic endeavors, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and gardening; and WHEREAS, Phyllis Baumgartner touched many lives during her time on this earth, and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Phyllis A. Baumgartner and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her children and their spouses, Linda and Peter Udelhoven, Philip and Cathy Baumgartner, and Scott and Dr. Mary Lee Baumgartner; to her grandchildren, Anthony and Peter Udelhoven, Natalie Eades, and Christopher, Justin, and Bradley Baumgartner; to her step-grandson, Jason Mendrey; to her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Natasha Eades, Emily and Daniel Udelhoven, and Amanda Baumgartner; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Phyllis Baumgartner.
