H.R. No. 476
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Richard MacDonald was named the 2010 Volunteer of
the Year at the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala on
February 4, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Long dedicated to improving the lives of his fellow
residents, Mr. MacDonald was one of the founders of the Katy Home
Savers Association, a nonprofit organization that helps repair the
homes of senior citizens and disabled individuals; through the
years, additions such as wheelchair ramps and new appliances have
helped people remain in their homes and enjoy safer and more
comfortable living quarters; and
WHEREAS, This respected local leader has also contributed to
the Katy Cowgirls and area FFA students; in addition to supplying
hay for the programs, he has provided projects, promoted and taken
part in the livestock auction, and established scholarships for
Katy Independent School District youth; and
WHEREAS, Richard MacDonald has made a positive and lasting
difference in his community, and he may take justifiable pride in
the recognition he has received from his peers; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Richard MacDonald on being named
the 2010 Volunteer of the Year by the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. MacDonald as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
