H.R. No. 507 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at the untimely death of Makenzi Knickole Papasan of Leander, who passed away on January 30, 2011, at the age of 12; and WHEREAS, Born in Austin on July 8, 1998, Kenzi Papasan was a seventh-grade student at Wiley Middle School in Leander, where she was a valued member of the Silver Spur Dance Team and the band; she was a congregant of RockPointe Church and participated in the church's youth group and children's ministries; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Knickia Papasan and Tonya Wallace Papasan, Kenzi grew up with the companionship of two sisters, Morgan and Myranda; her bright smile and buoyant spirit endeared her not only to her family but to all who had the good fortune to know her; and WHEREAS, Although it is immeasurably painful to say good-bye to one so young and full of promise, those left behind may find comfort in knowing that their lives have been forever enriched by the joyful times they shared with this beloved child; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Makenzi Knickole Papasan and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her parents, Knickia and Tonya Papasan; to her sisters, Morgan and Myranda Papasan; to her grandparents, Mackie and Lavelle Walters, Yvonne and Keith Lange, David Papasan and Bettie Barbieri, and Bill and Bonnie Hennig; to her great-grandmother, Doris Dickerson; to her aunts and uncles, Shana and Robert Dilldine, Robert and Kendra Walters, Michael Walters, and Callie Papasan; to her cousins, Shiean, Jaidyn, Sage, Ciera, D. J., Jenny, and Miley; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenzi Papasan.
