H.R. No. 567 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly cause for celebration, and Robert James Pradia of Houston is reaching that impressive milestone on February 27, 2011; and WHEREAS, Robert Pradia was born in Houston in 1921, and he graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1940; answering his nation's call to duty during World War II, he served as a member of the U.S. Navy until being wounded in action and honorably discharged in 1943; he later worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office before retiring; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Pradia has enjoyed a fulfilling marriage to Ruby Wells Pradia, and together the couple have been blessed with five children, Andre, Reynaldo, Cheryl, Maureen, and Susan, as well as five grandchildren, Archie, Reynaldo, Nicholas, Andre, and Alexander; and WHEREAS, A man of strong faith, Mr. Pradia attends Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, and he is a lifelong member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver; and WHEREAS, Robert Pradia is a source of joy and inspiration to all who are privileged to know him, and his birthday provides a welcome opportunity to remind him of the high regard in which he is held; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Robert James Pradia on the occasion of his 90th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Pradia as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
