 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The marching band of Dripping Springs High School
 won the Class 4A state title at the 2009 University Interscholastic
 League State Marching Band Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio;
 and
 WHEREAS, This impressive win capped a solid record of
 accomplishments for the band, which has been a UIL state finalist
 multiple times and was ranked fourth in the state at the Texas Music
 Educators Association Honor Band Contest in 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Months of outdoor practice in the extremes of Texas
 weather resulted in a flawless performance of the band's program,
 "Moments in Crime," enabling the Tigers to beat out their nearest
 rivals, Friendswood High School and Poteet High School in Mesquite;
 the Dripping Springs band was ably led by drum majors Megan
 Alvarado, Connor Jones, and Laura Cripe; and
 WHEREAS, With this victory, the talented, energetic, and
 hardworking members of the Tigers Marching Band proved themselves
 one of the finest in Texas and earned great distinction for
 themselves, their school, and their community; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Dripping Springs High School
 Marching Band on winning the 2009 UIL Class 4A state championship
 and extend to all those associated with the band sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the band as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
