H.R. No. 666 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Members of the Dallas Regional Chamber and its Young Professionals program are visiting the State Capitol on March 1, 2011; and WHEREAS, Founded in 1909, the chamber pursues the goal of promoting the growth and prosperity of the Metroplex through a variety of economic and community development programs; with a membership of approximately 2,500 businesses representing nearly 600,000 employees, the organization is ably guided by president and CEO James C. Oberwetter, 2011 chair Mike Baggett, 2012 chair elect Clint McDonnough, and immediate past president and CEO David Corrigan; and WHEREAS, One of the group's many worthwhile initiatives is Young Professionals, which works to equip its more than 350 members with tools necessary to succeed personally and professionally; classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures from both the public and private sectors; and WHEREAS, The efforts of the Dallas Regional Chamber and its Young Professionals program are contributing to the robust business environment in North Texas and helping to make the area an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby welcome the visiting members of the Dallas Regional Chamber and the Young Professionals program to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
