H.R. No. 693
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Dallas County Council of Republican
Women are visiting the State Capitol on March 3, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Dallas County Council of Republican Women is the
umbrella organization for the 15 Republican women's clubs in the
county; the council works diligently to advance the issues of the
GOP and to facilitate and encourage cooperation among the Federated
Republican Women's Clubs; participants have increased political
awareness among area residents while helping to elect their
candidates to local, state, and national positions; and
WHEREAS, Among the delegation visiting the Capitol today are
women from the Northwood Republican Women, Bentwood Republican
Women, and Lake Highlands Republican Women, including their
officers, Northwood past president Carolee Blumin, and club
presidents Laurie Schacherer, Barbara Nelson, and Jane Howell,
respectively; these public-spirited Texans have assisted in the
many endeavors of the council, including efforts to support our
military servicemen and servicewomen at deployments, homecomings,
and troop-related events; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Dallas County Council of Republican
Women are making a lasting difference through their grassroots
political activism, and they may take justifiable pride in their
rich history of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby welcome the Dallas County Council of Republican
Women, including its officers, club presidents Laurie Schacherer,
Barbara Nelson, and Jane Howell, and Northwood past president
Carolee Blumin, to the State Capitol and extend to its members
sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and productive visit; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
