H.R. No. 738
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
cause for celebration, and Aurelia Lopez Gonzalez is marking that
special milestone on March 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, A native of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mrs. Gonzalez came
to the United States with her family as a young girl, and she
graduated from Martin High School in 1943; and
WHEREAS, In 1948, she married Eusebio Bustos Gonzalez, and
the couple were blessed with three sons, Adolfo, Tomas, and Eusebio
Gonzalez, Jr.; she devoted herself to caring for her family and
making a lovely home; and
WHEREAS, After her husband's passing in 1960, Mrs. Gonzalez
worked for S. H. Kress and H-E-B; a talented cook, she went on to
sell her delicious baked goods and gave cake decorating classes for
a decade before her retirement in the early 1990s; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzalez attributes her longevity to her
healthy lifestyle; in addition to eating wholesome foods and
drinking milk, she remains active, exercising and working in her
garden each day; and
WHEREAS, A woman of incredible strength, faith, and dignity,
Aurelia Gonzalez is a source of joy and inspiration to all who have
the great privilege of knowing her and sharing in the richness of
her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Aurelia Lopez Gonzalez on her 90th
birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
