R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Merlin and Delores Schwenk of
Georgetown celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on February
18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Schwenk were united in matrimony at
Packer Memorial Church on the campus of Lehigh University in
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 1956; through the years, they have
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
the addition of two sons; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 55
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Merlin and Delores Schwenk on their
55th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Schwenk as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
