No. 76 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Members of the Mexican American Democrats of Texas have long worked to advance causes important to the state's large Hispanic population, and their groundbreaking efforts have helped to ensure that the voices of all our citizens are heard and respected; and WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its presidents through the years, the Mexican American Democrats of Texas has successfully increased the representation of Hispanic Texans at the local, state, and national levels and will undoubtedly continue this proud tradition throughout the years to come; and WHEREAS, Following in the footsteps of such groups as La Raza Unida and the Southwest Voter Registration Project, members of the Mexican American Democrats of Texas have employed grassroots methods to reach the largest audience possible; by actively soliciting their constituents' opinions and faithfully representing their concerns, they have demonstrated the truest ideals of the democratic process; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby honor the 2011 president and all former presidents of the Mexican American Democrats of Texas and commend the organization for its achievements; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Mexican American Democrats of Texas as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
