 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lee Ricks of Pleasanton has distinguished himself as
 a talented and successful artist for more than four decades; and
 WHEREAS, With a keen eye for the beauty of nature and an
 appreciation for a bygone era, Lee Ricks creates watercolor
 paintings of the Old West, Southwestern landscapes, coastal scenes,
 and colonial buildings of Mexico and Europe; he holds a bachelor's
 degree in art from The University of Texas at Austin, and he worked
 as an illustrator and art editor for the Texas Ranger magazine; and
 WHEREAS, An independent businessman for 35 years, Mr. Ricks
 began devoting himself full-time to his art in 1993; he is a former
 president and the current treasurer of the Texas Watercolor
 Society, and he performs demonstrations and conducts workshops
 throughout South Texas; he was a featured poster artist for the
 United Way of San Antonio campaigns of 2008 and 2009, and his work
 has been recognized with awards from the Western Federation of
 Watercolor Societies, the San Antonio Watercolor Group, and the San
 Antonio Art League; and
 WHEREAS, Wholly dedicated to his art, Lee Ricks has earned
 the admiration and appreciation of citizens across the Lone Star
 State and beyond, and he may indeed take pride in his impressive
 body of work; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Lee Ricks for his professional
 achievements and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Ricks as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
