 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
 by a great and enduring love, Bert and Susy Cogdill of Georgetown
 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 16, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Eighteen months after meeting at Kansas State
 University, Mr. and Mrs. Cogdill were united in matrimony in
 Pensacola, Florida, in 1961; through the years, they have nurtured
 a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
 addition of their son and daughter, six granddaughters, and a
 grandson; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Cogdill served an eight-year tour of duty in the
 U.S. Navy, after which he became a special agent with the Naval
 Investigative Service; over the course of his career with NIS, the
 family resided in eight states, as well as the Philippines and Cuba;
 Mrs. Cogdill has been a dedicated homemaker throughout the couple's
 marriage; and
 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
 half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
 has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
 grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Susy Cogdill on their
 golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
 for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cogdill as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
