 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Cowboy Capital Rodeo Association plays a vital
 role in the Texas Hill Country community of Bandera; and
 WHEREAS, Founded 28 years ago in the self-proclaimed Cowboy
 Capital of the World, the CCRA is a nonprofit organization that
 works to preserve and maintain the western traditions of the Lone
 Star State; the group's primary focus is the organization of the
 Cowboy Capital Rodeo Association Professional Rodeo, held every
 year over Memorial Day Weekend; sanctioned by the Professional
 Rodeo Cowboys Association, the event draws leading riders and
 professional rodeo acts from around the nation; it has twice been
 voted Dodge Small Rodeo of the Year, and it has been repeatedly
 selected as one of the top five small rodeos of the year by the PRCA;
 and
 WHEREAS, The Cowboy Capital Rodeo features such popular
 events as bull riding, barrel racing, bareback riding, and calf
 roping; it also introduces the next generation to rodeo through
 such youth activities as stickhorse races, mutton bustin', and the
 Dodge Calf Scramble; the gathering has grown through the years to
 include the annual Boot Kickin' Golf Tournament and the Get Your
 Cook-On BBQ Cook-Off; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to drawing visitors to Bandera every
 year and being a highly anticipated celebration for area residents,
 the rodeo benefits the community by funding college scholarships
 for young people from Bandera County; and
 WHEREAS, For nearly three decades, the Cowboy Capital Rodeo
 Association has helped promote Bandera while also assisting
 deserving area students and showcasing our state's ranching
 heritage, and the organization's efforts are indeed deserving of
 recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the Cowboy Capital Rodeo Association for
 its many contributions to its community and extend to its members
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
