H.R. No. 871
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A strong democracy depends on a citizenry engaged
with the issues of the day and committed to participation in the
political process; and
WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1980, the Lake Highlands
Republican Women's Club of Dallas has worked to advance the issues
of its party and to ensure the election of its candidates to local
and statewide office; and
WHEREAS, The efforts of its members have helped to increase
the political awareness and effectiveness of hundreds of women by
persuading them that their participation in public affairs is
vital; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Lake Highlands Republican Women's
Club are making a difference in their community, state, and nation,
and they may reflect with pride on their rich history of civic
engagement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor the Lake Highlands Republican Women's Club
for its many accomplishments and extend to its members sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
