H.R. No. 879 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Joe Michael Plummer of Corpus Christi, who died on February 24, 2011, at the age of 54; and WHEREAS, "Mick" Plummer was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on December 8, 1956, to Joe Monroe Plummer and Thelma Plummer; after graduating from West Mecklenburg High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; and WHEREAS, Mr. Plummer began his career at Duke Energy in Charlotte and later moved to Corpus Christi, where he was employed at both the Hoechst Celanese Corporation and Equistar Chemicals; and WHEREAS, In 1997, he was joined in matrimony to Sylvia Childers and became the stepfather of her two children, Lauren and John Michael; in his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in his garage, and tinkering with electronics; and WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Mick Plummer will remember the way he touched their lives with his kindness and quick wit, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joe Michael Plummer and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his parents, Joe Monroe and Thelma Plummer; to his wife, Sylvia Childers; to his stepchildren, Lauren and John Michael Wilshusen; to his brothers, Perry Plummer and his wife, Tammy, and Mark Plummer and his wife, Beth; to his nephews, Josh, Jake, Aaron, Timothy, and Trevor; to his niece, Theresa; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe Michael Plummer.
