R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Participants of Leadership Friendswood are visiting
the State Capitol on March 24, 2011, to gain further insight into
the workings of state government; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce,
this exceptional program was established in 2001 in an effort to
provide opportunities for residents to increase their knowledge
about vital public issues; and
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide
information on the local economy and industry, city and county
government, education, health care, and utilities; and
WHEREAS, Members of the current class include Melissa
Davenport, Marissa Stidham, Shirley Lange, Chris J. Brown, Rene
Ibarra, Eileen Scanks, Tammy Guidry, Chris Salinas, Pauletta Jeter,
Mike Marcantel, and Beth Stanfield; this year's coordinators are
Steve Anderson, Carol Marcantel, and Lucy Woltz; and
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership
Friendswood is helping to create a brighter and more promising
future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby welcome members of Leadership Friendswood to the
State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
informative and memorable trip to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
