H.R. No. 900 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, February 10, 2011, marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Ray and Joan Anderson of Crawford, providing a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; and WHEREAS, High school sweethearts Ray Anderson and the former Joan Culp were joined in matrimony in 1961 at a ceremony held at First Baptist Church in McGregor; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their daughter, Angie Slaughter, and her husband, Jeff, as well as two grandsons, Travis and Tye; and WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson retired in 1997 from Texas Power and Light after 28 years as a lineman and dispatcher; Mrs. Anderson retired in 2005 as manager of Rocket Federal Credit Union; active members of College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor, they also delight in attending the activities of their two grandsons; and WHEREAS, The 50 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ray and Joan Anderson on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Anderson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
