H.R. No. 961
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Willie and Eula Bennett of Rockdale celebrated their
65th wedding anniversary on February 18, 2011, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Willie P. Bennett and the former Eula Bea Thompson
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Corpus Christi in 1946, and over
the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a loving
life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett count among their blessings a
fine family that includes 4 children and their spouses, Rusty and
Debbie Bennett, Pat and Stanly Vongoton, K. K. and Joe Hendrix, and
Becky and Larry Shuffield, as well as 11 grandchildren, 21
great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, with whom they
share the many special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, For six and a half decades, Willie and Eula Bennett
have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion,
and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Willie and Eula Bennett on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bennett as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
