77 relating to a feasibility study regarding the establishment of a
88 dental school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center

1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Education Code, is
1212 amended by adding Section 61.0666 to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 61.0666. STUDY REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF DENTAL
1414 SCHOOL; EL PASO. (a) The board shall conduct a study to examine
1515 the need for and feasibility of establishing a dental school in El
1616 Paso as a component of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
1717 Center. The board shall consult with the board of regents of the
1818 Texas Tech University System in conducting the study.
1919 (b) Not later than November 1, 2012, the board shall report
2020 the results of the study required by this section to the governor,
2121 lieutenant governor, speaker of the house of representatives, and
2222 presiding officer of each legislative standing committee with
2323 primary jurisdiction over higher education.
2424 (c) This section expires January 31, 2013.
2525 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2626 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2727 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2828 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2929 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
