9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subsection (g), Section 25.25, Tax Code, is |
---|
11 | 11 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
12 | 12 | | (g) Within 60 [45] days after receiving notice of the |
---|
13 | 13 | | appraisal review board's determination of a motion under this |
---|
14 | 14 | | section, the property owner or the chief appraiser may file suit to |
---|
15 | 15 | | compel the board to order a change in the appraisal roll as required |
---|
16 | 16 | | by this section. |
---|
17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
---|
18 | 18 | | to a suit to compel an appraisal review board to order a change in an |
---|
19 | 19 | | appraisal roll filed on or after the effective date of this Act. A |
---|
20 | 20 | | suit to compel an appraisal review board to order a change in an |
---|
21 | 21 | | appraisal roll filed before the effective date of this Act is |
---|
22 | 22 | | governed by the law in effect on the date the suit was filed, and the |
---|
23 | 23 | | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
---|
24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
25 | 25 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
26 | 26 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
27 | 27 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
28 | 28 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
